Today's
Stress Tip..by
G. Gaynor McTigue..FRI.03/04/05 Especially
if you're a jackrabbit the other six. Sleep late. Languish in bed with the newspapers.
Don't answer the phone. Go out for brunch. It's okay. It's not a crime. In fact,
considering how you normally abuse yourself, it's downright virtuous. Even better,
designate a day the whole family can be slugs. No shuttling the kids around frantically.
No social calendar to be slave to. Just let things happen...lazily and naturally.
It will leave you more energized and better prepared to tackle the week ahead.
Why make yourself crazy? Based
on G. Gaynor McTigue's acclaimed book Why Make Yourself Crazy? featured
in major publications and on talk shows across America. Make
StressHoliday.com your home page and be greeted each weekday morning with a new
stress-reducing strategy!
Don't be pressured into unhealthy stress. Even if it's your supervisor or colleague who's doing the pressuring. If you're constantly given projects that are impossible to complete without pulling your hair out, doing a slapdash job, or suffering a near stroke for your trouble, speak up. Calmly and firmly tell them it's not nearly enough time to perform the task accurately and professionally. Then offer possible solutions: you'll need more time; you can do part of the project in the allotted time; or you'll require more help. If you're a good competent worker your request should command respect and compliance. If it doesn't, and little regard is shown for your health and well-being, it's time to start exploring other options. Why make yourself crazy?
