Today's
Stress Tip..by
G. Gaynor McTigue..THU.03/31/05 Observe yourself. Go through
a day as if you were an objective observer following yourself around, monitoring
your every thought, emotion and action. Note with honesty what annoys you, or
makes you pleased, angry, tense, proud, or frustrated. Observe how you act in
certain situations...and why. You'll learn a lot. (And not always like what you'll
learn.) But the experience will be eye-opening. And allow you to identify what's
stressing you most -- things you may not even be aware of! Which you can then
fix. Try to see yourself as objectively as other people do. Why make yourself
crazy? Make StressHoliday.com your home page and be greeted each weekday morning with a new stress-reducing strategy! Based
on G. Gaynor McTigue's acclaimed book Why Make Yourself Crazy? featured
in major publications and on talk shows across America.
Don't let them get away with it. The reason why customer service is so abominable today is that people just accept it. The company usually doesn't care as long as they're raking it in. And granted, who wants to play menu tag or wait on hold half an hour to grouse at a low-level functionary? But you know what? It's more aggravating to do nothing. Because every time you think about it you're going to seethe. And that's not good. So take a few minutes and write an email complaint. To give it some oomph, copy any consumer organizations, industry associations, or government agencies you think might stick in the offender's craw. Then shoot it off. If it goes unanswered, dump the chumps. If you get a reply, you've scored some points. Either way, take some satisfaction in not letting them get away with it. Why make yourself crazy?
