Stress Tip..by
G. Gaynor McTigue..FRI.03/25/05 Observe other people under stress. Notice how they rush things. How tense and wound up they can get. How they're always apologizing for falling behind or making mistakes. How they never seem to be in control, bouncing from one thing to the next, leaving loose ends and unfinished business in their wake. That may be YOU! Or where you're headed. So study people under stress and think about how they could improve their lives. (We're always better at critiquing others, aren't we?) Then apply that counsel to your own life. You can learn a lot about yourself simply by observing others. Why make yourself crazy? Make StressHoliday.com your home page and be greeted each weekday morning with a new stress-reducing strategy! Based
on G. Gaynor McTigue's acclaimed book Why Make Yourself Crazy? featured
in major publications and on talk shows across America.
Don't become addicted to your work. Be aware of signs that your job has become your master rather than the other way around. For instance, you work at night and on weekends, even when you don't really have to. Or you find yourself putting family members and other activities off in favor of getting a few more work-related things out of the way. Or you're constantly thinking about your job, even at the most, uh, inappropriate of times. Embrace the philosophy that you don't live to work, you work too live. And remember, all that superfluous time spent on the job...is time you'll never see again. Why make yourself crazy?
